Zachary Vazquez is a model, actor, entertainer and a fitness enthusiast. He was born in Florida and is of Cuban descent. His family immigrated in 1964 to Miami. He grew up in Florida and attended Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida.
Acting is his passion, and he loves to showcase the best of his abilities. He is a constant student of the arts, loves the industry and accredits his work ethic and drive in acting to the work ethic and drive he learned in the health and fitness lifestyle by being a model himself.
The Palmetto actor has lived in Manatee County his whole life. He appears as a lifeguard in the recently released film “Baywatch” based on the hit 1990s television series. Even though his role may be a small one, he spent 32 days on set, making this the largest film role yet in his career. Zachary enjoyed the role of a lifeguard thoroughly, always supporting the lead roles. It is the fourth set he has shared with Dwayne Johnson, the highest paid actor of 2016, along with “The Fate of the Furious”, “Pain & Gain” and the HBO show “Ballers”. The latter two and “Baywatch” were shot in South Florida where he grew up.
He has also appeared in some Tampa Bay films such as “The Infiltrator” and “Dolphin Tale 2” but often travels, as Florida productions have diminished due to a lack of state incentives. He appeared in “Magic Mike XXL” which gave him a chance to share a set with Channing Tatum, who also grew up in Tampa.
His co-stars find him very outgoing, personable and friendly with everyone on the set. He attaches himself pretty much to the characters in the films he is associated with. After almost 20 years of modeling, he wanted to try something new, especially after having a scene next to Morgan Freeman in “Dolphin Tale 2.” He worked on his fitness to suit the role given to him in Baywatch, a film where a hot body was more or less a pre-requisite. He hopes to land a larger film or recurring television role eventually. He is also excited about his new job, a soldier role on AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” According to Zachary, it is a terrific experience, and he looks forward to working on it for some time to come.
