After the 12 hour grand finale of Indian Idol 12, the winner was declared. It has been one of the longest finales of all time which included more than 200 songs with 40+ acts. Starting at noon, it went on till midnight on 15th August.

A lot of people enjoyed soulful voices the entire day with this finale switched on their televisions. The energies on the stage made the entire audience, on and off the television, say just one word- WOW.

Pawandeep Rajan, the Uttarakhand boy, was declared the winner of the Indian Idol at midnight. He received the winner’s trophy on the stage along with a Maruti Suzuki Swift car and a cheque of Rs 25 lakhs. His fans and Indian Idol fans couldn’t keep calm and his entire social media has been flooded since then with congratulatory messages and good wishes.

With so much love and adulation coming his way, Pawandeep has surpassed everyone’s expectations. From performing in front of music industry veterans to celebrities and regaling them with mesmerizing performances, Pawandeep now looks forward to a bright future ahead.

Though this was not his first reality show, he has already won The Voice India in 2015 and has also performed in more than a thousand live shows.

As everyone celebrated his win, Pawandeep didn’t seem to feel too great about this win. According to him, everyone deserved to win. All the singers worked hard and performed exceptionally on the stage in every single episode.

“I did not think much during the final moments. There was only one thing in my mind that whoever wins the show, the trophy will come to one of my friends. Because we all are one big family. In fact, when I got the trophy, I was not feeling very great because all of us were deserving. We all have planned to work together in the future and we will be in contact with each other even after the show.”

His family has also been overjoyed. His mother had tears in her eyes seeing his son lift the Indian Idol 12 trophy. Since the singer is from Uttarakhand, he said that he would like to open a music school for kids there for their proper guidance.

In the 1st and 2nd, runners-up positions were Arunita Kanjilal and Sayli Kamble respectively who were awarded a cheque of Rs5 lakhs each. Mohammad Danish, Nihal Tauro, and Shanmukhapriya were in 4th, 5th, and 6th positions respectively who received Rs3 lakhs each.

All the Top 6 finalists received a cheque of Rs. 75,000 from Raj Superwhite Soap followed by gift hampers from Colgate and Denver respectively.
