Across the world, heart failure is one of the leading cause for frequent hospitalisations. An Indian Cardiologist Dr Rajesh Rajan president of Indian Association of Clinical Cardiologists introduced a new heart failure risk predicting calculator on 09th December 2017. The new scoring system is very simple and the physicians can use very easy to calculate the risk score during outpatient consultations. Unlike other available calculators, this one has only 3 variables to enter to get the score.

For this calculator, a physician should enter the following values Ejection fraction (EF%), estimated glomerular filtration rate (e-GFR) and Haemoglobin levels (Hb g/dL).

The above-suggested calculator needs to be validated with large heart failure trials so that we can predict 30 days 3 months, 6 months and one-year mortality in such patients. Soon it will be available online (www.hfriskcalc.in) with ios and android applications. So that it can be used in mobile phones for the ease.
