India has numerous amount of eccentric characters but due to the lack of exposure, they do not come up into the limelight. But in today’s digital world anyone can reach any part of a globe without any much efforts. But yet some of the amazing people live in the regions that are not connected properly with modern communication gadgets.

In fact, the story we are about to tell you here is the world’s first ‘free solo’ (The one who climbed the rocks without the use of any safety equipment) rock climber, and he is also known as India Daredevil. Here we are talking about the most humble and down to earth person, Jyothi Raj, who is also known as Monkey-King in this region.

Jyothi Raj who belongs to the south Indian state called Karnataka, and he is India’s first free solo mountain climber. There are only two people in the segment of free-soloists of world acclaim, the French ‘Spiderman’, Alain Robert and Indian daredevil, Jyothi Raj. If you look at the achievement of Jyothi Raj, anybody else in his place would have lost it, but Jyothi is supposed to be a down to earth and very humble person by nature.

The story behind Jyothi becoming the world’s great mountain climber is yet more interesting. According to the Jyothi, he realized this skill of mountain climbing for the first time, when he climbed the highest boulder to commit the suicide. But when he reached the top he realized that people are appreciating his skills and then he decided to give up the idea of suicide and made this skill as his hobby.

“There was a time in my life when I decided to end my life and for accomplishing the same, I decided to go on top of the boulder and jump from there,” says Jyothi adding that although he decided to jump from the top of that boulder but there was no way to climb on there, “And then I saw the monkey climbing the same Boulder and I followed him without even realising that I am climbing that boulder without any help. it was only when i reached to the top I came to know that I have some extraordinary powers inside me and from that day onwards I gave up the idea of ending the life,” says Jyothi.

Jyothi Raj has no formal training of mountain climbing, and he never used any kind of safety equipment to climbs any mountains, that he could access till date. The world’s professional climbers make the use of the safety equipment like Helmets, Ropes, Harness and Hooks but for Jyothi Raj, all these things have no significance as he believes on the grip of his hands.

The stunts performed by Jyothi makes him superhuman. According to the sources, only the monkeys can climb such a difficult terrains cause the structure of their legs are similar to their hands that can hold the grips, and humans legs are meant for walking but Jyothi defies all the laws of gravity.

Now coming back to the aftereffects of Jyothi’s stunt. He is also a human being just like you and me and, when he falls from the height, he also gets the fracture in his body. Nobody can defy the rule of nature. But what is important here is, Jyothi never gave up his passion for climbing the mountains despite accidents. “I broke my bones but not my heart,” says Jyothi grinning. Let’s take a look at what Jyothi had to had today about the casualties and how he handles them.

“I also had several falls while climbing, and I have many fractures in my body including metal four rods inside but, that does not keep me away from my passion. Now after finishing this challenge of climbing the Jog Falls I am aspiring to climb the world tallest building ‘Burj Khalifa,” says Jyothi.

In our country, this kind of talent has no value. The number of stunts that Jyothi had done till date did not fetch him any revenue, and he is doing it only for his passion. This is the saddest part of our country, where real talents do not get recognition. The Jog Falls climb was not even supported by any company or organization and in case of any casualties, there were no provisions to save him. Hope after looking at this article some people in the government wakes up, and try to give the real platforms to such talented people in India.
