In a landmark initiative, Axis Bank, a leading private sector bank in India, has pledged a substantial contribution of ₹100 crores to support the National Cancer Grid (NCG) and Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) in their efforts to revolutionize cancer care, research, and digital health adoption in India.

The partnership between Axis Bank, NCG, and TMC spans five years and aims to enhance access to cancer care, advance research programs, and catalyze the adoption of digital health solutions across the network of over 300 cancer centers affiliated with the NCG.

Mr. Rajiv Anand, Deputy Managing Director of Axis Bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to promoting sustainable healthcare and preventive health through this partnership. He underscored Axis Bank’s dedication to humanitarian causes and societal well-being, aligning with the bank’s overarching Corporate Social Responsibility mission.

Dr. C. S. Pramesh, Director of Tata Memorial Hospital and Convenor of the National Cancer Grid, expressed gratitude for Axis Bank’s generous contribution, emphasizing the critical role it plays in driving cancer research, innovation, and digital health initiatives. He highlighted the transformative steps taken by NCG in delivering high-quality cancer care across the country and looked forward to leveraging Axis Bank’s expertise in digital transformation for the benefit of NCG.

The collaboration will focus on three key strategic areas:

  • Improving Cancer Care Access and Quality: This includes the establishment of the National Cancer Teleconsultation Network, enabling patients to receive expert opinions and follow-up care closer to home. Clinical Decision Support Solutions will also be implemented to standardize cancer care protocols.
  • Advancing Cancer Research and Innovation: Initiatives such as the National Tumour Biobank will facilitate scientific advancements in cancer research by establishing a repository of tumor tissues and clinical data. A National Digital Cancer Registry will provide credible data for research and policy decisions.
  • Enabling Digital Capacity Building: Oncology-specific Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) will be deployed to enhance clinical data management and improve healthcare delivery. Virtual Skills Labs and online learning modules will address skill gaps in medical professionals and facilitate capacity building.

This strategic partnership aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of millions by significantly impacting cancer care and research in India, reaffirming Axis Bank’s commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian causes.
