Since ages Bollywood’s fashion has been an undeniable over the top discussion for masses. Their outfits and makeovers become a significant trend among the general public. Be it their go-to comfy looks or bridal designs, the influence extends both on national to international platforms. Elements of Bollywood style have always been a mix of vibrancy on one side and soft pastels on the other. From classic elegance of past decades to modern and experimental trends of today, the industry continues to push fashion boundaries.

But is the legacy of setting unmatched fashion foundations still alive among the new age actors?

Over the time there has been lots of criticism going on at every possible social media platform regarding B-town’s boring and lousy yet highly expensive dresses, designed by some renowned designers of the country.

A very common critique is that Bollywood often follows western trends rather than setting its own. This can lead to a sense of repetition and lack of distinct Indian styles.

Some also argue that their fashion sense has become too focused on displaying designer labels rather than showcasing genuine style and invention.

Many actresses have been criticized for supporting forced or inconsistent fashion choices, lacking a cohesive personal element and style.

The time of movies having iconic fashion moments that change the styling landscape of India are less common now, movies are more focused on realistic costuming than creating trends that would last for decades. While B-town continues to be a fashion force, it faces major criticism regarding its originality, reliance on brands and the changing dynamics of new age vogues.
