THE MURDER CASE THAT PULLED FOR ALMOST 10 LONG YEARS HAVE FINALLY ENDED WITH THE ACQUITTAL OF BOTH THE PARENTS OF AARUSHI TALWAR WHOSE BODY WAS FOUND IN LYING IN THE POOL OF BLOOD. INITIALLY, IT LOOKED LIKE THE DOMESTIC HELP HEMRAJ KILLED AARUSHI BUT, LATER ON, HIS BODY WAS ALSO RECOVERED FROM THE TERRACE OF THE BUILDING. NOW IT LOOKS LIKE NO-ONE KILLED AURHI AS EVERYONE IS OUT, AND THE MYSTERY STILL SURROUNDS TO AARUSHI MURDER CASE…
This is considered to be one of the foulest murder cases that has finally come to an end with the acquittal of both the parents of Aarushi. The most controversial Talwar couple finally came out from the life imprisonment but, the most haunted question still remains unanswered, who killed AARUSHI and why the killers are roaming Scott free?
The father of Nupur Talwar, Mr. B G Chitnis, who is a former group captain in the Indian Air Force, said it was the trying period for him to see his daughter Nupur and son in law Rajesh Talwar behind the bars for 10 long years, for the crime they did not commit. “I am grateful to the judiciary for the verdict. They (the Talwar couple) have really suffered. They are emotionally drained. At my age it was very trying to see my daughter behind bars,” he told reporters here.
Meanwhile, Vandana Talwar, AARUSHI’s aunt also came forward in the media to give her say, stating that the entire family had suffered for nearly decade as the case kept dragging on for so long, although she becomes defensive when the media asked her, who killed the AARUSHI. “It was very exhausting and trying …,” she said. She refused to go into the merits of the case and the judgment, saying the couple’s lawyers would answer questions on who killed AAARUSHI and their domestic help Hemraj. “We are deeply grateful to the judiciary and relieved over the verdict. I would like to thank all the supporters who supported us through the long ordeal,” she said.
It may be recalled that 14-year-old AAARUSHI Talwar was found dead inside her room in the Talwars’ Noida residence with her throat slit in May 2008. The needle of suspicion had initially moved towards 45-year-old Hemraj, who had gone missing but later his body was recovered from the terrace of the building a day later. The murders of AAARUSHI and domestic help Hemraj gripped the imagination of the nation, indeed several other parts of the world. The interest even resulted in the critically acclaimed film, Talvar, which was distributed by Junglee Pictures and produced by Vineet Jain and Vishal Bhardwaj. The film was directed by Meghna Gulzar.
The Allahabad High Court has evicted the Talwar Couple on Thursday on the grounds that they could not be held guilty on the basis of evidence on records. The verdict had ended the ordeal of the Talwar couple who were found guilty by the CBI court and had been going through the life imprisonment in a sensational double murder case. (AAARUSHI and Herman) A division bench of the court comprising justices BK Narayana and AK Mishra upheld the appeals by the Talwars against the Ghaziabad CBI court order sentencing them to life imprisonment on November 26, 2013.
Their lawyer Rebecca John said the evidence presented by the CBI “did not stand judicial scrutiny and that is the end of it”. Pinaki Misra, another defense counsel, said the CBI court judgment was “absolutely perverse and the High Court has set it aside correctly”.
The case looks like over now, but the culprits who killed the AARUSHI and Hemraj will remain the mystery forever. This is the live example of how the justice delayed is justice denied. The soul of AARUSHI looks like will never get the justice. Please share your valuable comments on this serious issue.
