Tom Cruise doesn’t need any introduction for he is an inspiration to so many around the globe. He is known for making people love him for his acting and stunts. His most famous series is Mission Impossible. He is considered to be the highest-paid actor in the world.
On Thursday, he shared a video showing off his stunt which he considers to be his most dangerous one till now. The clip he shared on his social media is from his upcoming ‘Mission Impossible 7’ movie.
In this stunt, he takes a motorbike ride down a ramp and off a giant cliff in Norway and lets go in mid-air before his parachute is released.
The clip, and a featurette of Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie talking about the feat, were shown at the CinemaCon gathering of movie theatre operators and Hollywood studio executives in Las Vegas, entertainment media reported.
“This is far and away from the most dangerous thing I’ve attempted; we’ve been working on this for years, I’ve wanted to do it since I was a little kid.”
Tom Cruise who is 59, has revealed that he has been training for more than a year to make this stunt a perfect one. And it obviously wasn’t just training, there was so much to it.
He says that they took 500 skydiving sessions and along with that 13,000 motorbike jumps. This astonishing and dangerous stunt was shot 6 times before they could get the perfect one.
In this movie, he will be returning as suave spy Ethan Hunt. The release is now due in May 2022 as a coronavirus-disrupted shot in Italy, Norway, and the U.K. for more than a year.
He has won 3 Golden Globe awards in the past and has been nominated for various prestigious awards as well such as the Academy Awards.
In past movies, Cruise has hung off the side of a plane as it takes off, piloted a helicopter through narrow mountain ravines, scaled the 828-meter Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai, and performed a skydive from almost 8km high.
