OCI cardholders and Foreigners who were earlier restricted entry into the country on the account of Coronavirus scare are not allowed to come to India in case of a family emergency like critical medical conditions or a death of an immediate family member. 

Following the un-lockdown 1.0, India lifted various travel restrictions but it was only meant fo the Indian residents stranded abroad but now the Home Ministry had decided to allow the foreigners and OCI cardholders with family emergencies are allowed to come down to India.

According to the report published in the Hindustan Times, OCI card holders who wish to come to India on account of family emergencies like critical medical conditions of immediate family members or death have also been granted permission to travel to India.

The Indian home ministry on Friday eased the restrictions on the entry of foreign nationals into the country norms, allowing a larger number of Overseas Citizen of India cardholders and foreign nationals related to OCI cardholders or citizens to enter India.

According to the reports, the categories that are allowed to enter India with the travel permits includes the Minors who are the OCI card holders and whose parents are living in India.   

OCI cardholders who wish to come to India on account of family emergencies like critical medical conditions of immediate family members or death have also been granted permission to travel to India.

Besides this the Indian Government has also eased restrictions on the married couples wherein the one of them is a OCI card holder and other is India National.  

Students who are OCI cardholders, where at least one of their parents is an Indian citizen or an OCI cardholder, can now travel to India.
